Multiple locations may be listed, but this position is not hybrid or remote—it is a full-time, on-site role at one designated location.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the project manager and superintendents with the following:
    • Accumulate all necessary data and prepare the monthly owner pay applications
    • Discover and resolve interface conflicts between the company and trade partners, as well as among trade partners
    • Assist the company's field supervisors on interpretation of drawings, specifications, RFIs, and questions for and from the architect/engineer
    • Develop/manage the cost control and labor recap in conjunction with the project manager and project superintendent
    • Process and estimate all potential change orders and requests for information
    • Assist in development and management of the project schedule
    • Assist with engineering details and special design
    • Track and report on the progress of the project
    • Assist with production analysis studies
    • Manage the timely acquisition of materials and equipment and field-initiated purchasing
    • Run weekly owner/architect/contractor meetings and maintain meeting minutes
    • Assist in monthly margin analysis
    • Update and maintain the project record utilizing the Book of 14
    • Participate in jobsite safety meetings, weekly safety audits, etc.
    • Facilitate the quality control plan and participate in preparatory meetings, initial inspections, follow-up inspections, etc.
    • Assist in interpretation of the BIM and VDC specifications
  • Manage, train, and mentor the office engineers and the jobsite administrator.

Requirements

  • A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer software: Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel-based templates), Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Past internships in the construction industry

Physical Requirements

Moderate Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The individual in this position will periodically:

  • Walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type
  • Move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, boxes, cabinets, etc.
  • Operate a computer and other office machinery (calculator, copy machine, phone, computer printer)
  • Communicate with employees and external stakeholders regarding office administration
  • Compute, analyze, and conceptualize mathematical calculations and formulas
  • Sit in a stationary position in front of a computer screen
  • Read written communications, mail submissions, blueprints, and take/verify field measurements
  • Climb (ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps at various heights)
  • Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing, or crouching (balancing)
  • Bend the body downward and forward by the spine at the waist (stooping)
  • Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle

Environmental exposure:

  • Occasionally exposed to high and low temperatures
  • Frequently exposed to noisy environments and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind
