About the Role

The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating the site development and design of new and existing locations. This role oversees daily project needs and serves as a liaison between the field and corporate office.

Responsibilities

• Prepares site plans, building designs, and written specifications for construction.
• Coordinates repairs of fixed assets such as warehouses, offices, tank farms, storage tanks, and fertilizer facilities.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of current safety and environmental codes, building codes, and fire regulations.
• Communicates with building and fire officials, state environmental departments, and local municipal governing agencies.
• Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
• May be required to drive a company vehicle.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
• Ensures regular and reliable attendance.
• Follows all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology or related field experience is required.
• One to three years of related work experience is required.
• Possesses or has the ability to obtain a Hazardous Response Certification.
• Knowledge of agri-chemicals and their associated hazards.
• Working knowledge of CAD software and Microsoft Office.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license is required to drive a company vehicle; must meet all company requirements to drive a Helena vehicle.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English is required; communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill.
• Travel by various means up to 40-50% of the time is required.
• Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Work environment includes both office settings and outdoor conditions in all types of weather, with exposure to outdoor elements.
• Potential exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations, and risk of electrical shock.
• Requires frequent use of hands for various tasks, including talking, hearing, walking, standing, sitting (8 hours a day or more), lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling (up to and including 50 lbs or more).
• Involves reaching overhead (up to and including 25 lbs), climbing, gripping, grasping, twisting, bending, stooping for long periods, working below knee level, and working above shoulder level for short periods.
• Must wear and work in fitted protective equipment.
