About the role
The individual in this position will perform the duties under the supervision of the Project Manager, providing technical support to project staff, reviewing plans and other technical documents, answering questions regarding the scope and/or timing of the project, and monitoring costs and project progress.
Responsibilities
- Coincides work of various contracts as assigned, tracks documentation and evaluates contract issues such as pay applications, changes, punch-lists and closeout activities.
- Supports in coordinating and managing the efforts of the contractors/consultants.
- Aids in the evaluation of progress and quality of contract activities in compliance with approved schedules and budgets.
- Reviews progress payments.
- Reviews bid package documents as issued by design consultants for omissions, clarifications required, and for coordination between design disciplines.
- Aids Project Managers and team members.
- Expedites resolution of Project problems.
- Obtains Daily Reports from Inspectors/Contractors.
- Maintains change management control logs, submittals and RFI logs.
- Prepares documents, letters, and report meeting minutes as required by Project Manager.
- Participates in negotiations, preparation of and review all Change Orders.
- Maintains project close out and client occupancy.
- Performs work in a safe manner and actively encourages others to comply with safety rules and regulations, including wearing of personal protective devices.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management. Three (3) to seven (7) years of experience in construction administration of large multimillion-dollar projects.
- Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of project team, client, and others. Knowledge of contract negotiation and administration. Relevant Knowledge Base: Technical and contract knowledge in scheduling, estimating, contract administration, and cost control. Good working knowledge of computer software. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with others.
