About the role

Inspired by a legacy of quality, safety, and excellence, Griffith Company seeks a Project Engineer to join its Central Region team. This position supports the company's expanding operations in San Luis Obispo, focusing on technical support, coordination, and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Manager with compliance to codes, drawings, and specifications
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and material suppliers
  • Maintain document and project controls, including preparation of reports, cost codings, submittals, RFI’s, time and material requests, and progress payment requests
  • Assist in preparing estimates and compiling data for project progress analysis
  • Provide technical support in construction planning, quality control, design interpretation, application of construction methods, conflict resolution, and constructability reviews
  • Represent company, project, and/or department during client and project management meetings
  • Manage job reporting and logs to ensure project compliance
  • Monitor accounts payable, subcontracts, and time sheets
  • Facilitate job site meetings
  • Track project labor costs and equipment
  • Assemble project schedules
  • Perform job closeout duties
  • Update daily diary
  • Perform independent analysis of change orders

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience on structures projects
  • Strong work ethic and excellent time management skills
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and computer skills
  • First Aid and CPR/AED trained
  • OSHA 10 and 30 certifications
  • Certified QSP for SWPPP
  • Proficiency in reading standard plans and specs, P6 schedules, and software such as Blue Beam, Sketch Up, and Build2Win
  • Thorough understanding of document controls
  • Valid driver’s license

Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and excellent time management skills
  • Able to assume responsibility and communicate effectively with others
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and computer skills
