Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Aid in establishing roadway geometric designs for both horizontal and vertical alignments, including super elevation.
• Evaluate drainage needs through hydrology and hydraulic calculations for open channels and storm sewer systems.
• Determine construction perimeters using 3D modeling of roadway corridors.
• Design traffic components, both permanent and temporary, during construction phases.
• Calculate quantities and assist in submittal production through plan sheet setup and technical drafting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE).
• 2-8 years of related experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on transportation projects.
• Experience with MicroStation, Geopak/InRoads, and Open Roads.
• Familiarity with AASHTO's highway and traffic publications.
• Previous experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on MDOT transportation projects.
