Position Description

The Project Engineer Sustainability is a position provides technical and administrative support to the Owner's Sustainability Team in the planning, design, procurement, construction, implementation, commissioning, and closeout of sustainability and energy-related capital improvement projects throughout program's job sites. Working under the direction of the Sustainability Strike Team Lead, this position assists in coordinating projects that advance the program's sustainability initiatives to include Energy Information Systems (EIS), Building Management Systems (BMS), central plant optimization, LED lighting upgrades, energy efficiency retrofits, renewable energy systems, microgrids, electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, electrification, and other sustainability projects.

Essential Job Duties

• Provide technical and engineering support to the project managers and sustainability team throughout all phases of the project.
• Support implementation of the program's sustainability initiatives including energy efficiency, electrification, renewable energy and carbon reduction strategies.
• Coordinates with Project Managers, Architect, Engineers, Contractors and program personnel to resolve technical issues and accurate responses to requests for information (RFIs).
• Responsible for the maintenance and distribution of current contract plans and specifications.
• Confirms contractor's maintenance of record drawings prior to monthly progress payments to the Contractor.
• Makes field checks on construction to determine compliance with job specifications and plans, established Owner's standards, and regulation and compliance requirements.
• Documents progress of projects, logging photographs, daily project reports and notes as required.
• Assists in preparing written materials including correspondence, reports, procedures, and guidelines.
• Logs and tracks status of project change order proposals, field orders, and approved change orders.
• Maintains project files and record drawings.
• Logs and reviews submittals for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Assists in coordinating and recording minutes of meetings with project stakeholders.
• Assists in review of submittal procedures, RFI's and monthly invoices.

Hardware/Software Knowledge

• Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM), Preferred

Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications

• Minimum of Three (3) years of experience in a similar or equivalent position involved in project or construction management of commercial or public facility construction projects with values in excess of $15M.
• Experience with regulatory compliance for construction and design processes for public works projects, Preferred.

Education/Training

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, Construction Management or related field required.

Compensation

• This role is salaried/exempt with a base annual salary range of $78,170.00 - $85,170.00 and commensurate with skill, education, experience, and work location.
• This role is bonus eligible after 6 months of employment.
