The role
As a Project Engineer, you will take full ownership of projects from the moment an order is received through design, procurement, manufacturing, and testing. You’ll serve as the technical lead, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring that every project is delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with customer and industry requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Take full ownership of project scope, ensuring every requirement, deadline, and budget target is achieved
- Drive project execution by coordinating design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and shipping activities
- Lead design reviews and run weekly manufacturing updates to keep teams aligned
- Analyze customer purchase orders and specifications, researching industry standards to ensure custom designs meet all requirements
- Maintain control of project scope by identifying and managing changes early
- Produce all technical documentation needed for internal guidance and customer approval
- Build and maintain project schedules, anticipating challenges and prioritizing work effectively
- Review engineering drawings to improve clarity, manufacturability, and cost efficiency
- Select components and materials, and write detailed procurement specifications for custom parts
- Review vendor quotes for technical compliance and value
- Troubleshoot issues during manufacturing, testing, and field deployment
- Track material and labor costs to ensure alignment with financial targets
- Support estimating and technical development for project changes
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
- Operate with a high degree of independence to deliver successful project outcomes
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, or Aerospace)
- At least 2 years of project engineering experience involving the design and manufacture of custom equipment
- Experience with industrial design, building codes, and applicable standards is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, web-based applications, and engineering software such as Autodesk, Autodesk Inventor, and MathCADA
- Self-starter with strong ownership, excellent time-management skills, and a high level of initiative
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Additional Requirements
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Authorization to work in the United States
- On-site position at our Batavia, OH facility
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% annually
