About The Role
Location: Phoenix, AZ. Job Type: Full-Time. Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join their growing construction team in Phoenix, AZ. This position supports the successful delivery of commercial tenant improvement (TI) projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and eager to grow into a Project Manager role while working in a fast-paced commercial construction environment. The successful candidate is a proactive team player who enjoys solving problems, communicating with diverse project stakeholders, and helping deliver high-quality commercial interiors on schedule and within budget. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated Project Engineer looking to advance into Project Management within a respected commercial general contractor.
Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers in the planning, execution, and completion of commercial TI projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and document control.
- Assist with project scheduling and monitor progress against milestones.
- Track project budgets, change orders, purchase orders, and cost reports.
- Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action items.
- Perform site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Assist with project closeout, including punch lists, as-built documentation, warranties, and final turnover packages.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and company quality standards.
