About the role
As a Project Engineer, you’ll be the hub that keeps the project team moving—handling documentation, cost tracking, scheduling support, and on-site coordination. Success means juggling multiple tasks, keeping meticulous records, and thriving under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Aid Superintendents and Project Managers in day-to-day site management to ensure schedule and quality goals are met.
- Manage the RFI and submittal process from creation through close-out.
- Process owner billings, track job-cost codes, and resolve project-related accounting items.
- Maintain daily logs, progress photos, material procurement logs, change orders, and close-out documents.
- Help create and update project schedules (MS Project preferred).
- Cookordinate subcontractor insurance, bonds, and compliance paperwork.
- Support project safety by attending daily huddles and documenting inspections.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to read plans, specs, and shop drawings; strong understanding of construction means & methods.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; working knowledge of Procore, Prolog, and MS Project is a plus.
Preferred
- Internship or 1–3 years of experience on commercial construction projects.
- Familiarity with job-cost accounting and document-control software.
