Responsibilities
- Manage the development of new products as assigned from concept through prototype, tooling, engineering builds, pilot runs and into mass production.
- Assure new products meet all approval agency requirements.
- Travel to Asian suppliers approximately 5% of the time and other venues 5% in support of the product development process.
- Oversee testing and address any issues that arise throughout the product life cycle.
- Utilize the document management system for revising, controlling, and sharing engineering documentation.
- Perform supervisory responsibilities of team members in accordance with the company policies, improving the effectiveness of the Engineering team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with the design, testing and troubleshooting of new products with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- High computer software competency with 3D modeling experience in Pro-E and/or Solid Works.
- Minimum 5 years in consumer products or commercial appliances.
- Experience working with Asian suppliers desirable.
- 5 to 10 years in consumer goods industry.
