Duties/Responsibilities
- Review new and existing drawings as received from customers.
- Review piece part drawings to view or visualize construction of tooling.
- Provide specifications for cost estimation of new, and engineering change, tooling projects.
- Review feasibility of tooling / molding project quotations.
- Purchasing and tracking new and engineering change tooling both internally and at outside vendors.
- Manage all APQP requirements for assigned customers.
- Work with Q.A. Dept. on piece part inspections and capability studies of new mold and engineering changes to ensure all PPAP requirements are completed and approved.
- Aid the accounting department in securing payments from customers and ensuring vendors are paid in a timely manner.
- Review tool drawings to ensure compliance with Chemtech Plastics Injection Mold Standards.
- Manage the design and development of all secondary equipment and processes both internally and supplied by outside vendors until approved by Manufacturing.
- Interface with staff and fellow managers to keep communications effective throughout the company.
- Ability to deal with customers in all necessary situations to keep them informed of pertinent details.
- Act as the customer sales contact to promote the abilities of the entire company, and to secure additional business.
- Other duties as required or assigned by Management.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Project management skills including time and cost planning and tracking.
- Knowledge of procedures for cost estimating of tool work.
- Technical understanding of mold design, mold building, metallurgy and related equipment and services utilized in the construction of tooling.

Education and Experience
- High School or equivalent.
- A combination of advanced technical education and prior success in tooling engineering positions of 10+ years within the plastic molding industry.
