Project Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to clarify requirements, review progress, and ensure all project expectations are met in a timely manner.
- Maintain and monitor project budgets, track cost exposures, and proactively adjust forecasts as conditions change in the field.
- Track project performance, including schedule milestones, production rates, and quality metrics, and analyze progress against key goals.
- Document and report project progress through daily logs, weekly updates, and formal reporting to stakeholders, clients, and senior leadership.
- Cook up with field personnel, including Superintendents and Foremen, to ensure alignment between project plans and field execution.
- Manage material procurement and delivery schedules, ensuring materials arrive on time and meet project specifications.
- Aid with project scheduling, including updating timelines, identifying critical path activities, and adjusting plans based on field conditions.
- Support quality control efforts, ensuring work meets engineering standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications, and communicate changes or clarifications to field teams.
- Identify and resolve project issues, including conflicts, delays, or design discrepancies, by coordinating with the Project Manager and field leadership.
- Prepare and process project documentation, such as RFIs, submittals, change orders, and as-built records.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, participate in site safety meetings, and support the enforcement of company safety policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors to support smooth project execution.
- Visit project sites regularly to assess progress, verify work in place, and ensure alignment with project plans and schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline required
- Organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use specialized software for collaboration and time management, including Office, Bluebeam and Excel
- Strong time management and analytical skills
- Firm understanding of complex mathematical concepts
- Proven leadership skills
- Strong communication skills
- OSHA 10/30 required
- Minimum of 1 years of construction management experience in estimating, operations and/or engineering preferred but not required.
