Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager (PM) in managing commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects to ensure construction aligns with design specifications, budget, and schedule.
  • Interface with client representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Review, select, and submit project documents (e.g., submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, subcontracts, operation and maintenance manuals) in collaboration with the PM and project supervision.
  • Provide field employees with support to ensure timely project completion.
  • Assist the PM in extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
  • Support equipment releases and tracking.
  • Attend and document construction project meetings.
  • Act as a liaison between trades and other company departments.
  • Distribute, follow up, and respond in writing to punch list items promptly.
  • Conduct on-site visits to assess trade productivity, material/equipment efficiency, and contractual performance.
  • Gain industry knowledge to provide technical assistance (e.g., engineering, drawing interpretation, construction methods, and equipment recommendations).
  • Participate in weekly staff and project management meetings.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the PM or Regional Manager to support branch and company operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of construction and/or engineering office experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Safety awareness: Execute tasks safely, use PPE when required, and complete Driver’s Skills Assessment training for worksite travel (if applicable).
  • Willingness to undergo OSHA 10 and 30 training as appropriate.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent lifting and carrying of materials up to 50 pounds, as well as physical labor tasks such as pushing, pulling, and manual material handling. All activities must comply with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize injury risk.
