Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager (PM) in managing commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects to ensure compliance with design specifications, budget, and schedule.
- Interface with client representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Review, select, and submit project documents (e.g., submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, subcontracts, operation and maintenance manuals) in collaboration with the PM and project supervision.
- Provide field employees with support to ensure timely project completion.
- Assist the PM in extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
- Assist the PM with equipment releases and tracking.
- Support construction project meeting attendance and documentation.
- Act as a liaison between trades and other company departments.
- Distribute, follow up, and respond in writing to punch list items.
- Conduct on-site visits to assess productivity, material/equipment use, and contractual performance.
- Provide technical assistance, including engineering support, drawing interpretation, and recommendations for construction methods and equipment.
- Participate in weekly staff and project management meetings.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the PM and Regional Manager to support branch and company operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent combination of construction and/or engineering office experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Safety Awareness
- Execute tasks safely and utilize appropriate work practices.
- Wear required PPE when working in or around designated areas.
- Complete Driver’s Skills Assessment training for worksite travel (if applicable).
- OSHA 10 and 30 training provided as appropriate.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent lifting and carrying of materials up to 50 pounds, as well as tasks involving physical labor such as pushing, pulling, and manual material handling. All activities must comply with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize injury risk.
