About the role
The Project Engineer provides essential administrative, technical, and coordination support to the Project Manager / Service Manager and the project team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple structured tasks in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, consistency, and follow-through in daily activities, with a hands-on approach where productivity is driven by individual execution and accountability. The position emphasizes dependable individual contribution and professional development within the project team.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate phone calls, emails, and messages from internal and external customers, ensuring all communications are documented and tasked out according to company procedures
- Assist the Project / Service Manager with priority items and task execution
- Track and follow up on open and pending tasks
- Initiate jobs and tasks within accounting and service management software
- Dispatch service employees to projects accordingly if applicable
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through professionalism and customer service skills
- Responsible for the timely, accurate execution of tasks as assigned
- Assist in billing and filing
- Maintain files and documents, and provide any information needed
- Provide basic status reporting and respond to requests for service, assistance, and information to all internal and external customers
- Prepare correspondence for signatures as needed
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the corresponding Project Management software
- Represent and uphold B&D’s Mission, Vision, and Values
- Maintain records for open jobs to ensure all required project documents exist and are current
- Maintain an understanding of project and company concepts, practices, policies, and procedures
- Other duties, activities, and responsibilities may vary and change as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other relevant field preferred
- Relevant work experience (4+ years) may substitute for the degree
- Intermediate computer proficiency and advanced critical thinking skills
Physical demands
- Long hours sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing
- Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements is to be expected on job sites
