Project Engineer
About the role
This is an entry-level position and is based out of Denver, CO.
Responsibilities
- Observes and documents construction activities in accordance with contract requirements, such as: daily diaries, payment reports during progress of work, construction submittals and memos, civil rights compliance reports, and more.
- Researches and interprets contract requirements to determine whether construction work is performed in compliance with plans, specifications, and special provisions, and advises internal project manager and/or owner of any failures or delays.
- Uses engineering judgement to review and resolve changed and/or unforeseen conditions.
- Participates in quality control checks, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, checking computations, and/or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others.
- Reviews shop drawings within area of expertise for conformance with contractual requirements.
- Covers operation within organization unit to ensure consistency with policies and procedures.
- Follows all applicable safety protocols while onsite, including requirements established by contract documents, client standards, and internal policies, and promptly reports observed hazards or concerns.
Requirements
- 0-2 Years of professional experience in a related technical field.
- Completion of Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field from an ABET accredited college/university.
Special Skills
- Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop, squat and crawl to inspect work;
- Ability to observe construction activities and distinguish colors;
- Ability to perceive back-up alarms and other warnings;
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, subject to insects, flooded terrain, equipment/traffic, and other hazards.
Qualifications
- Position may require nonstandard work shifts, such as overtime hours, weekend shifts, and/or night shifts as per the client's'and/or manager's direction.
- Position requires driving company vehicle. Incumbent must have valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy.
Skills
- E.I. or E.I.T. is highly preferred, or ability to obtain.

Pay
Expected compensation range is between $70,000 - $80,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
