Project Engineer

About the role
Join our dynamic team as a Project Engineer where you will lead, organize, perform, and ensure all design and technical activities of a project follow contractual requirements across company departments, clients, and suppliers/sub-contractors.
Responsibilities
- Promote safety within the company and advance safety standards.
- Coordinate assigned engineering resources, including local and remote international team members and peers.
- Foster collaboration and alignment between disciplines and engineering contractors.
- Facilitate weekly meetings with engineering parties, issue minutes, and follow up on action items.
- Demonstrate an interdisciplinary mindset (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Process, Process Control, Systems, Electrical, and Instrumentation engineering).
- Ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables per project schedule; inform project scheduler and PM of status, risks, and recovery plans.
- Secure the quality of deliverables, verifying compliance with E&C Global standards and US/local codes.
- Support the Proposal team and review the Basis of Design.
- Prepare the Technical Requisition Summary for procurement and guide technical clarifications with suppliers.
- Support the procurement team in expediting Vendor Documentation Records and provide technical review during manufacturing.
- Maintain a log of pending actions/open topics from minutes.
- Implement Document Control practices and tools (Alair, G-drive) for technical project documents.
- Maintain a record of engineering capitalization points.
- Ensure the project execution plan is followed and assist in updating it.
- Identify, track, and mitigate changes post-project signature; build alignment on approvals and expedite resolution.
- Support technical Design Reviews and facilitate project gate review meetings according to Air Liquide standards.
- Interface with Design Authorities and the Overall Design Authority.
- Support Fabrication and Construction by coordinating resolution of technical issues.
- Apply a collaborative change management approach with commercial awareness.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in a Project Engineering role within Industrial Design or operations.
- Proficient with Google Workspace and MS Office.
- Ability to travel to various job sites on short notice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Engineering across all disciplines and processes.
- Experience in Project Management and customer relationships.
- Site experience (Construction or Commissioning).
- Second language (French or German).
- Project Management certification (PMI/PMP).
