Project Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Aid in proper project planning and development of engineering means and methods.
• Create work packages and prepare production indicators/benchmarks.
• Develop the master schedule.
• Identify and educate on environmental compliance laws and permit requirements.
• Research and resolve design/drawing conflicts and errors.
• Verify quantity tracking data and measure productivity.
• Interpret production goals from work packages.
• Ensure daily communication of productivity goals is understood by crews.
• Track progress of major vendors and subcontractors.
• Maintain the project schedule.
• Generate and maintain various informational logs and correspondence with the project client/owner.
• Provide engineering input to the daily job log.
• Generate and maintain contract compliance listings, buyout logs, and procurement reports.
• Estimate and document costs of extra work and unanticipated activities.
• Establish and maintain a project change order log.
• Cover and approve submittals to the Owner/Engineer.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience in heavy infrastructure construction.
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction including technology, equipment, methods: craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, estimating, schedules, and safety.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Willingness to travel is required.
