Responsibilities

  • Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and trade/craft personnel
  • Aid in implementing pre-construction plans and project execution strategies
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other construction professionals
  • Manage, create, distribute, and file project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and correspondence
  • Establish and maintain electronic document control procedures in accordance with company standards
  • Develop and maintain logs as required by the Project Manager and company policies
  • Manage submittals and ensure material procurement and deliveries align with project schedules
  • Develop, distribute, and track RFIs and change orders
  • Update and maintain as-built construction documents
  • Obtain and maintain construction permits and manage related fee payments
  • Track testing, inspections, and quality control documentation
  • Schedule key deliverables and milestones and monitor progress
  • Support cost tracking, budgeting, and basic cost estimating efforts
  • Coverage of subcontractors, suppliers, and outside contractors
  • Report project progress, issues, and potential risks to the Project Manager
  • Identify and assist in mitigating potential project issues
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with project team members and external partners
  • Support project managers with day-to-day project administration and coordination

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in hotel and restaurant construction or renovation projects
  • Project management certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of construction management methods and processes
  • Basic understanding of construction legal requirements and business practices
  • Familiarity with construction methods, building products, and applicable codes
  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to break large projects into manageable tasks
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed
  • Proximity to the Torrance office for regular in-office work
