Project Engineer 1 - Structural

Responsibilities

• Aid in the structural design of vertical projects, including new buildings, renovations, and additions.
• Design structural systems using steel, concrete, masonry, and wood, adhering to applicable codes, loads, and project requirements.
• Create structural drawings, specifications, design reports, and calculation packages using software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and structural analysis tools.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to integrate structural systems with other building components.
• Ensure constructability, efficiency, and compatibility across disciplines.
• Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and performing site visits to verify installation accuracy.
• Work closely with project managers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of structural engineering services.
• Guide junior engineers and drafters, offering oversight and mentorship on design approach, software use, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience in structural design and analysis.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency in structural design software such as ETABS, STAAD, SAP2000, or RISA.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI.
• Experience in designing multiple structural materials (e.g., steel, concrete, timber).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Possess a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with seismic design and performance-based engineering.
• Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit.
• Knowledge of advanced analysis techniques, including finite element modeling.
• Experience in a variety of project types, including bridges, high-rises, or industrial facilities.
