About the role
The Project Director oversees projects from preconstruction to close-out, focusing on the San Diego market and building business relationships.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Webcor and clients, architects, contractors, and web developers.
- Support business development efforts and expand the customer base.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Lead pursuit strategies and prepare proposals that align with the pursuit strategy.
- Build and maintain a positive reputation both internally and externally.
- Build and manage project-specific work teams and train/mentor staff.
- Use a corporate resource planning tool to manage resources on assigned projects.
- Enforce and manage Webcor’s safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Typically 15 years of diversified construction experience, including 5 years in field management as a Sr. Project Manager or Sr. Superintendent.
- Strong knowledge and professional network in the San Diego area.
- Experience working on projects in sectors such as public sector, healthcare, higher education, infrastructure, and civic construction.
- Self-perform experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Proven knowledge of the project lifecycle, including cost control, budgeting, and accurate cost reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of estimating, including full estimating services, preconstruction, and value engineering.
- Ability to identify and manage risks professionally and document them.
- Familiarity with insurance and rates.
- Working knowledge of MEP, interiors, exteriors, structure, and other technical aspects of a project.
- Ability to independently assemble general contractors/general subcontractors (GCs/GRs).
- Experience leading preconstruction efforts, including client management, resource management, etc.

Pay
$210,000 - $231,000 base pay range.
