The Designer applies interior design expertise, space planning, product specification, and project coordination to deliver accurate, code-compliant, and client-focused results. You’ll partner closely with sales, clients, and internal teams to design functional, innovative, and visually compelling spaces while translating client needs into thoughtful design solutions.
Responsibilities
- Attend client meetings and/or participate in in-house strategy sessions to qualify design parameters
- Lead and support all phases of the design process from programming and space planning to installation
- Produce presentation materials, renderings, and client-facing design packages
- Ensure all designs align with ADA requirements, building codes, and project goals
- Conduct field measurements, site verifications, and product inventories
- Prepare accurate and detailed construction documents and installation packages
- Apply company documentation standards and quality control processes while cultivating efficiencies
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills and flexibility to prioritize workload, address competing deadlines, and adapt to changing project demands
- Participate in peer reviews to ensure design accuracy, integrity, and compliance
- Communicate effectively, asking questions to gather missing information as needed
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery
- Maintain current knowledge of manufacturer lines (Knoll, Herman Miller, and others), products, and industry trends in workplace design
- Research product options and build presentation packages for clients
- Evaluate and design all requirements to meet customers’ needs, delivering finished floor plans and product inventories
- Attend vendor presentations and training to continuously expand product knowledge
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field
- Experience in commercial interior design or contract furniture preferred
- Strong understanding of interior design principles, industry standards, space planning, and furniture systems knowledge
- Proficiency in design software, specifically CET Designer, AutoCAD, and CAP/2020 (training available)
- Effective utilization of Microsoft Office Suite
- Previous contract furniture dealership experience beneficial but not required
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (full-time, exempt, salaried position). Hybrid work schedule available.
