We are seeking a highly skilled Project Designer to develop, coordinate, and manage mechanical engineering designs and BIM models for a diverse range of projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical engineering designs, analyses, and calculations within project scope.
- Coordinate design packages, drawings, and BIM models.
- Translate engineering requirements into accurate design documents.
- Coordinate multi-discipline design activities ensuring project scope and schedule alignment.
- Integrate engineering calculations, specifications, and system requirements into design outputs.
- Resolve design issues and integrate approved changes into drawings and BIM models.
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Build and maintain 3D BIM models using Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and BIM360.
- Support model coordination, clash resolution, and adherence to BIM standards.
- Integrate vendor data and field conditions into project models.
- Lead constructability reviews and incorporate feedback from construction and procurement teams.
- Identify design risks and support RFIs, field questions, and commissioning activities.
- Manage drawing and model updates, revisions, and document control.
- Support procurement packages, construction work packages, and as-built documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and quality checks promoting best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, BIM, procurement, construction, and project controls teams.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and BIM360.
- Ability to interpret and translate engineering calculations and specifications.
- Multi-discipline coordination skills (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, I&C).
- Understanding of constructability, operability, and maintenance requirements.
- Knowledge of industrial power generation systems and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple design packages and deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration across project teams.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to integrate vendor data and field conditions into design/BIM workflows.
- Familiarity with codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Ability to lead design reviews and support field/commissioning activities.
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and process system design.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent design tasks.
- Comfortable working with engineers, construction teams, vendors, and clients.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in engineering, drafting, design technology, or related field (preferred).
- 5-10 years of experience in industrial, power generation, or infrastructure design.
- Advanced experience with Autodesk, Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and BIM360.
- Experience developing coordinated BIM models and construction-ready design packages.
- Experience supporting construction, procurement, and commissioning activities.
- Experience with design standards, quality processes, and document control workflows.
- Advanced 3D Modeling and Coordination skills, especially with Revit.
- Strong understanding and application of BIM processes.
- Ability to plan deliverables proactively and coordinate with engineers and designers.
Schedule
- Hybrid work environment with 3 days in-office and 2 remote in Voorhees Township, New Jersey.
- Standard working hours: 8 AM to 5 PM.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $130,000/yr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
