About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As an Amazon Fleet Remediation Project Design Electrical Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers that remediate issues, upgrade existing infrastructure, or add new services. You will be the primary engineering resource for these projects, providing lifecycle support from design through implementation. Your electrical expertise will drive the design for existing data center upgrades and solutions that add infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and increase sustainability.

You will prepare and review short circuit coordination studies, maintain software models to match as-built site conditions, and perform design and equipment submittal reviews for data centers in your region. Collaborating with internal and external teams—including design engineering, server hardware, environmental health and safety, field engineering, and controls engineering—you will promote standards that ensure consistency and reliability in services delivered. This role involves working on concurrent projects, sometimes across multiple geographical regions, and acting as a technical subject matter expert during new remediation projects. You will also support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.

This position is based in the PDX Cluster, and we are looking for someone who thrives on innovative projects at hyper-scale.
