About the Role
The Project Assistant – Data Centers is responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of internal information and system-specific projects from initiation to delivery. This role coordinates work performed by network engineers, data center technicians, and internal customers/partners by defining project requirements, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments, and developing detailed project plans. The role manages implementation processes including asset management, resource allocation, progress tracking, change control, documentation, training, and on-time delivery within budget constraints. Projects may vary in number, size, and complexity.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple, cross-functional, and technical projects.
- Partner with functional teams during initiation, planning, design, procurement, deployment, and post-deployment phases.
- Manage and track program milestones, timelines, and overall deliverables.
- Oversee asset and material management across data centers and warehouses.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, reviews, process documents, and risk analysis.
- Participate in defining project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Drive project lifecycle milestones from concept commit through project closure and advocate for change management.
- Use metrics and KPIs to measure project performance and provide regular status updates.
- Identify and remove process gaps across multiple teams and functions.
- Account for risks and provide mitigation strategies.
- Serve as a point of contact for vendor partners and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate and assist with regularly scheduled meetings with core teams.
- Evaluate post-project results against metrics and recommend or implement improvements to delivery practices and processes.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from a four-year college or university and 2 to 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 to 5 years of project coordination experience in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment, preferably supporting network hardware or data centers.
- Experience with data center lifecycles and/or large-scale networks.
- Ability to build productive internal and external working relationships.
- Judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Understanding of project management teams, resolving conflict, and meeting schedule timelines.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, documentation).
- Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments concurrently.
- Self-starter who can quickly learn new tools and gain familiarity with new processes and technologies with minimal assistance.
- Experience creating spreadsheets, presentation material, and project/process documentation.
- Strong observational and analytical skills, including the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to track and report metrics and manage risks.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and communicate project updates to client executives.
Location
On-site near Lubbock, TX.
Pay
Base pay range: $70,000–$115,000. The pay range is a guideline; offers are tailored based on skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks while ensuring internal parity. Total compensation may include a discretionary annual bonus and a comprehensive health and wellness benefits package. Final details will be discussed during the later stages of the hiring process.
