Project Coordinator
About The Role
The Project Coordinator (Design & Technical Support) plays a critical role in supporting our design-build projects by combining project coordination, space planning, and 3D/technical documentation. This position works closely with the Design Consultant to translate design intent into accurate layouts, drawings, and project documentation — while keeping timelines, communication, and details aligned. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both technical design tools and organized project execution, and who thrives on precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Space Planning & 3D / Technical Support
- Create and modify space plans, layouts, and construction-ready drawings
- Develop and update 3D models and renderings using tools such as Chief Architect, Bluebeam, and other design/documentation software
- Translate design concepts into accurate plans for client review, internal coordination, and installation
- Assist with revisions based on client feedback, field conditions, or scope changes
- Maintain drawing accuracy throughout the life of the project
- Project Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate project schedules, milestones, and internal deadlines
- Maintain complete project files including drawings, selections, specifications, and approvals
- Track change orders, revisions, and client sign-offs
- Ensure project documentation is current, consistent, and clearly communicated
- Client & Team Support
- Support client meetings with updated plans, visuals, and documentation
- Communicate next steps and timeline impacts related to design or scope changes
- Serve as a point of continuity between design, project management, and installation teams
- Vendor & Trade Coordination
- Prepare and share drawings and specifications with vendors and installers as needed
- Assist with product coordination, lead times, and technical clarifications
- Help ensure field teams have accurate, up-to-date plans and information
- Systems, Accuracy & Process
- Maintain accurate records across project management and CRM systems
- Catch discrepancies early and resolve them before they impact schedule or cost
- Assist in refining internal documentation standards and workflows
- Support quality control across drawings, specifications, and project files
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with space planning and 3D design software
- Proficiency or working knowledge of Chief Architect, Bluebeam, or similar tools
- Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
- Ability to interpret design intent, field conditions, and construction constraints
- Excellent organization and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Background in interior design, architectural drafting, construction technology, or related field
- Experience supporting remodeling, design-build, or construction projects
- Familiarity with residential building standards and installation requirements
- Ability to read and produce construction drawings
Growth Path
As Floorology continues to grow into larger-scale remodels and new construction projects, this role may evolve into Senior Project Coordinator, Design Technologist, Technical Design Manager, or Operations-focused roles.
