Project Coordinator

About the role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to support the development and implementation of rural community health networks within the Rhode Island region. This role is integral to advancing rural healthcare infrastructure through stakeholder engagement, program execution, and strategic collaboration, operating with a high degree of independence under the guidance of the Community Health Network Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the development and implementation of rural community health networks within the assigned region.
  • Partners with the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) Community Engagement team to engage community stakeholders, including network grantees, in planning and execution activities.
  • Collaborates with healthcare providers, community organizations, municipalities, and other partners to establish necessary infrastructure, processes, and tools for rural health networks.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with local stakeholders to foster collaboration and long-term engagement.
  • Identifies and resolves implementation challenges through creative problem-solving and strategic thinking.
  • Coordinates with internal RHTP teams to ensure project alignment with program goals and initiatives.
  • Supports data collection, performance measurement, and progress reporting activities.
  • Assists with initiatives that align Rural Health Transformation Program objectives with Healthcare System Planning priorities established under Executive Order 24-04.
  • Participates in internal workgroups and committees to support program compliance and strategic objectives.
  • Supervises project staff supporting community network initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Health Policy, Public Policy, Social Work, Human Services, Nursing, or another licensed healthcare profession.
  • Strong understanding of rural communities and key stakeholders, including municipal governments, healthcare providers, community-based organizations, resident leaders, social service agencies, EMS, fire departments, and advocacy groups.
  • Knowledge of community organizing principles and engagement strategies.
  • Experience supporting health programs, public health initiatives, or community-based projects.
  • Understanding of health policy, program planning, research, and stakeholder engagement.
  • General knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, healthcare finance, and public health principles.
  • Familiarity with social determinants of health and barriers to care in rural communities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting health programs, public health initiatives, or community projects.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems and public health principles.
  • Familiarity with community engagement strategies and stakeholder collaboration.
