Project Controls Specialist - Michels Power, Inc.

Location: Syracuse, NY / South Windsor, CT • Full‑Time • 50% travel required

About the role

Michels Power, Inc. is one of the largest power delivery contractors in the United States, executing transmission lines, substations, distribution modernization, oil & gas facilities, renewable energy projects, and storm restoration. As a Project Controls Specialist, you will work with Operations to ensure efficient and effective budgeting, scheduling, and project coordination processes. Success in this role requires strong problem‑solving, organization, the ability to work independently, and consistent deadline management.

Responsibilities

• Support budgeting, scheduling, and project coordination processes across operations
• Use data to drive process improvement
• Travel to jobsites and meetings (50%+ travel)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• 0–4 years of related experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• General knowledge of accounting and business operations
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Proven ability to use data to drive process improvement
• Ability to travel in excess of 50% for jobsite visits and meetings

Pay

Expected Salary Range: $72,000 – $118,000 USD per year (actual pay adjusted based on skills, experience, education, location, and other job‑related factors permitted by law)
