Project Controls Manager | Utility Capital Projects

About the role

We're hiring a Project Controls Manager to support governance, oversight, and continuous improvement of project controls across large utility capital projects. Must be located in the Houston, TX area.

Responsibilities

• Lead project controls oversight for cost, schedule, risk, and change management.
• Ensure compliance with Stage Gate Process (SGP) standards.
• Conduct project assurance reviews and gate assessments.
• Provide SME-level guidance on project controls and business case development.
• Deliver training on project management standards and risk analysis.
• Support portfolio reporting, forecasting, and optimization efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 12+ years managing large, complex utility capital projects.
• Experience with project controls, risk management, and project governance.
• EPC or engineering firm experience preferred.
• PMP Certification (preferred)
• Primavera P6 (preferred)
• Monte Carlo / Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) (preferred)
