Project Controls Analyst

About the role

The Project Controls Analyst supports multiple geotechnical and construction services projects within the Finance Department of MC Squared, a professional consulting engineering firm.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain projects in Deltek VantagePoint, ensuring alignment with contract requirements, company standards, and accounting practices.
• Maintain project financial performance through monitoring budgets, fees, and funding allocations.
• Support earned value or progress tracking where applicable.
• Forecast project outcomes and identify potential risks and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Accounting, and Contracts to ensure accurate billing and compliance with FAR, contract, and client requirements.
• Develop and maintain standard and custom VantagePoint reports for clear, actionable financial insights.
• Support internal and external audits, providing documentation related to timekeeping and cost allowability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of project controls experience in engineering services companies or closely related industries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint.
• Experience with ERP systems and Deltek VantagePoint.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal staff and external clients.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience with Earned Value tools and resource management.
• Knowledge of DOT and engineering services contracts.
• Understanding of internal controls and company policies.

Pay

$X per hour or $Y per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
