• 9-Month Project Controls Accountant Role - San Antonio Energy Sector, Immediate Start

Responsibilities

• Overseeing all aspects of project accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Managing vendor relationships, ensuring all contractual terms and conditions are met and that vendors are meeting their obligations.
• Developing and implementing financial control procedures and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Providing financial analysis and insights to support decision-making processes.
• Collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that all financial aspects of projects are effectively managed.
• Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Using forecasting tools and techniques to predict project costs and outcomes.
• Identifying potential financial risks and developing mitigation strategies.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of financial strategies and plans.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional accounting certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) would be an advantage.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the energy industry.
• Proven experience in vendor management, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insightful analysis.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial markets, and banking.
• Proficiency in using financial software and advanced Excel skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound financial decisions.
• A high level of integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
