We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Controls Accountant (Consultant/Contractor) to join our client in the energy industry. Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of project accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring all contractual terms and conditions are met and vendors fulfill their obligations.
  • Develop and implement financial control procedures and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure effective financial management of projects.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Use forecasting tools and techniques to predict project costs and outcomes.
  • Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial strategies and plans.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional accounting certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is an advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the energy industry.
  • Proven experience in vendor management, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insightful analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial markets, and banking.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound financial decisions.
  • A high level of integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.

Pay

$50 - $65 per hour
