Job Description
Competitive Range Solutions seeks an experienced Project Controller to support program's executive support group in a Department of Defense (DoD) customer environment. Key responsibilities include financial tasks for government projects, billing (AR), conducting internal audits, managing project financials, and serving as a liaison between project management and finance.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Fulfill project accounting and cost reporting requirements of multiple contracts and programs.
- Interface with other members of a finance team, program managers, client, and contractor personnel.
- Create and maintain program financial spreadsheets and master workbooks.
- Analyze and present project cost reports, revenue variance, unbilled analysis, and accruals for progress determination.
- Track project costs, monitor performance against baseline, create purchase requisitions for subcontractor labor and other direct costs, and submit monthly financial reports for government reporting.
Qualifications/Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience working in a government contracting environment.
- Effective communication with Project Managers (PM) regarding contract documents, change orders, and other contract modifications, approvals, and additional services-related to billing.
- Preparation of final invoice packages containing draft and final invoices for all billable projects, including applicable backup for approval by the Senior PCS.
- Assessment and pursuit of opportunities for maximizing client billing; communication with the Accounting Manager about observations and actions.
- Research and resolution of unbilled issues to optimize billing possibilities for the billing period.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
- Experience working with a previous government contractor.
Education/Certifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree is desired.
