About the role

The Project Chemist will lead technical support to the manufacturing plant to assure product quality and performance, transfer new products/technologies to production, adapt existing DFMEA for new modified products, evaluate new technologies, raw materials, and processes, and manage the product maintenance process independently.

  • Perform product maintenance
  • Conduct in-depth chemical reviews
  • Present results to customers
  • TS Audit responsible
  • Initiate technical presentations from raw material suppliers
  • Lead TS 16949 Audit for the R&D team
  • Perform special projects and other assignments as directed by manager

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of R&D experience in product formulation, ideally involving polymer compositions for automotive or industrial applications
  • Proven track record of successfully leading development projects from ideation through market introduction
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams (e.g., EHS, Operations, Sales/Marketing) to oversee progress and ensure successful outcomes
  • Highly motivated, self-driven individual who takes responsibility and ownership for assigned tasks and projects
  • Curiosity and courage to challenge the status quo and push technical boundaries in support of Sika’s innovation culture
  • Excellent communication skills and an open mindset that fosters a respectful, collaborative, and enjoyable work environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working on teams for audit preparation
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers
