About the role
As a Project Assistant you will assist the project manager with managing projects.
What You’ll Do
- Utilize and provide to management meaningful and timely reports using key performance indicators to aid in managing the health of the project
- Develop, maintain and update project documentation
- Develop and maintain program file system (physical and electronic)
- Contact customers to obtain project specific information
- Complete project close-out per company standards
- Track accruals weekly and turn in at the end of every week
- Schedule work and crew make ups with scheduler for internal and external use
- Review invoices from subcontractors to confirm production and accurate accounting
- Work with Accounts Receivable and Billing Department to make sure all revenue is accounted for and accurate
- Forecast month and year for each project and program
- Create purchase orders
- Work with internal support groups (Finance & Accounting, Billing, etc.) to set up projects in accounting system
- Remove obstacles and empowering Operations to be successful
- Constantly manage and monitor project progress, risk and the quality of the customer experience
- Manage project level activities which include but is not limited to critical path monitoring/alignment, procurement, resource loading/forecasting/conflict resolution and critical path risk identification/mitigation
- Proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they become problems
- Lead efforts to gather all project level status to report on project status to all stakeholders
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s Degree in an industry related field or combination of education and experience
- 2 - 5 years of experience in delivering OSP Telecommunications services or utility related industry
- CAPM or PMP Certification is a preferred
- Problem solver and critical thinker
- Proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Project
- Understand the project life cycle as defined by PMI
- Ability to apply project management concepts, and methodology
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum guidance
