About the role

This role involves conducting various types of building assessments, including Property Condition Assessments, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, asbestos/lead/radon sampling, seismic reports, structural surveys, roofing surveys, ADA checklists, pre-construction document reviews, construction monitoring, and other property-related services. The Project Assessor will also communicate with local Building, Zoning, and/or Fire Departments to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site assessments and prepare detailed written reports.
  • Review previous assessment reports and historical records to identify property and surrounding use.
  • Contact local authorities to verify compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Travel to client sites across the U.S., often requiring overnight stays and weekend travel.
  • Communicate with project stakeholders, including property owners, tenants, and local officials.
  • Document findings through photography and written reports, adhering to ASTM standards and client-specific scopes of work.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to varying project scopes and technical requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for specialized projects.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information and deliver exceptional customer service.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with at least three years of related experience. A valid driver's license and current Registered Architect or Professional Engineer certification are preferred. Proficiency in computer software, including Quire and AssetCalc, and the ability to operate an electronic tablet in the field are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Current Registered Architect or Professional Engineer certification (preferred).
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Quire and AssetCalc.
  • Ability to operate an electronic tablet in the field for live data collection.
  • Understanding of construction materials and methods, environmental concerns, cost estimating, and industry standards.
  • Time management, active listening, critical thinking, problem-solving, oral and written communication, and motivational skills.
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the job, including walking, standing, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in various weather conditions.

Skills
