Project Assessor
About the role
This role involves conducting various types of building assessments and preparing detailed reports. The Project Assessor (onsite/field) will travel to client project sites across the US, often for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Owns project communication with the leadership team and keeps them informed of any issues.
- Conducts various types of building assessments, including Property Condition Assessments, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, asbestos/lead/radon sampling, seismic reports, structural surveys, roofing surveys, Facility Condition Assessments, energy audits, accessibility assessments, mechanical equipment evaluations, industrial maintenance operations & FLS assessments, ADA checklists, pre-construction document reviews, construction monitoring, desk reviews, report reviews, and/or document review.
- Observes property’s mechanical systems, components, equipment, and conditions, and obtains areas/measurements and quantities to justify estimated costs.
- Interviews property owners, tenants, service providers, and local government officials.
- Prepares a written report describing onsite findings, considering client-specific needs.
- Manages multiple stakeholders and provides technical guidance for specialized projects.
- Maintains safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures.
- Delivers outstanding customer service and protects company information confidentiality.
- Follows company policies and works independently or in a team environment.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with at least three years of related experience. Proficiency in computer software, including Quire and AssetCalc, Microsoft Suite, and project-specific applications, is required. Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

- Understanding of construction materials and methods, environmental concerns, cost estimating, and industry standards.
- Time management, active listening, critical thinking, problem-solving, and oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as walking, standing, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and operating electronic tablets and computers.
Skills
- Language ability: Writing reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures; presenting information and responding to questions.
- Reasoning ability: Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Technology skills: Operating a computer, word processing software, spreadsheet software, and project management software.

- Base salary starting at $55,000 with an annual incentive bonus plan.

Pay
$55,000 annually, with potential for adjustment based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
