Job Summary
About the role
Maxwell is seeking Superintendents to oversee and coordinate all activities of a construction site according to project blueprints and schedule plans. Key duties include managing a team, creating cost estimates, collaborating with clients and other construction managers, coordinating materials and equipment, scheduling workers and subcontractors, implementing management techniques, and making necessary changes to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress, and resource allocation.
- Create cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials, and other project costs.
- Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, and other construction management to determine budget and timeline.
- Cookordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers.
- Create schedules for workers and subcontractors.
- Hire additional subcontractors and assign work accordingly.
- Maintain a daily log for job site operations, reporting to management as necessary.
- Implement changes in operations as necessary to meet construction deadlines.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of field experience in the commercial construction industry.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage and direct on-site project teams to successful completions.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, walk, and work at heights for extended periods of time.
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
- Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
- Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects while carrying tools and equipment.
- Vision - ability to see details at close range and details at a distance (naturally or with correction) and distinguish colors.
- Environmental Conditions - May work outside and exposed to weather. Wear protective or safety equipment, i.e., safety boots/shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats. Work in dusty or dirty surroundings. May be exposed to high levels of noise, grease, dust, and a variety of substances typically associated with a construction site.
