Project Architect, Higher Education
About the role
The Project Architect is a licensed architect competent in all conventional aspects of architectural practice with an emphasis on the technical implementation of the project design. This role requires independent judgment and critical thinking, adapting firm and practice standards to project requirements while possessing a diverse working knowledge of related disciplines. The Project Architect leads the development of contract documents and supervises the project team.
Responsibilities
- Leading the development of contract documents
- Providing supervision and guidance for the project team
- Translating architectural concept design into contract documents, including specification coordination
- Managing the translation of architectural concept design into contract documents, including specification coordination
- Adapting firm and practice standards to project requirements
- Leading communication efforts with clients and development teams
- Ensuring compliance with agency review processes and successfully completing the entitlement and permitting process with minimal aid and supervision
- Leading the management of construction contract administration processes
Requirements
- Architectural licensure in the state where the office is located is required
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited program is preferred
- 8 or more years of experience in architectural practice preferred
- Extensive knowledge of architectural detailing, current construction standards, and associated building trade collaboration process (design-build, design-assist, etc.)
- Extensive experience in translating architectural concept design into contract documents, including specification coordination
- Extensive knowledge of agency review processes, and the ability to successfully complete the entitlement and permitting process with minimal aid and supervision
- Extensive knowledge of construction contract administration processes preferred
- Has the ability to lead communication efforts with client and development team
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/REVIT and other business software and their application to contract documents

Benefits
RDC offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary estimated between $90,000 - $115,000 plus bonuses and benefits, contingent on location and relevant experience. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
