Project Architect

This is a hybrid role based in Philadelphia, PA, requiring on-site presence three days per week.

About the Role

As a Project Architect, you will lead projects of varying sizes in collaboration with Senior Project Architects, Designers, and Principals. The role involves significant client interaction, mentoring less experienced staff, and engaging with our healthcare, corporate, science, and academic teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, detail, and document healthcare, academic, or corporate buildings
• Prepare technical drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements
• Coordinate with architecture and engineering teams to deliver integrated documentation
• Generate redlines in documentation sets and ensure budget adherence
• Act as a firm-wide mentor and advise on firm standards (RUG/Technical/Templates/Specs)
• Lead internal and external project components, including client and contractor interactions
• Provide day-to-day support to clients and external project teams
• Lead building or discipline delivery autonomously
• Perform ongoing process improvement studies
• Build industry networks through trade organizations, events, or conferences
• Participate in performance reviews and internal committees

Technical Skills

• Ability to take and provide direction within a larger team
• Develop design or technical solutions with Project Managers and Principals
• Lead large-scale or multiple projects, including work plans and execution strategies
• Self-starter capable of generating design solutions and directing team members
• Interface and lead all disciplines during design and coordination phases
• Lead construction administration activities across teams and disciplines
• Demonstrate high responsiveness and collaboration with contractors and clients
• Exhibit targeted expertise and a key role in the firm
• Show superior technical skills, dedication, and ownership of work
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, or other modeling software
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong graphics and visualization skills to communicate design ideas
• Attention to detail, strong organizational, and interpersonal skills

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master of Architecture
• Registered Architect
• Highly versed in preparing full sets of design documents using Revit and Bluebeam
• Minimum 10–20 years of experience in building design and documentation, with strong preference for academic and research buildings
• Superb production, analytical, and communication skills
