Project Architect
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multifamily residential projects from concept through construction.
- Cook up design, documentation, and permitting efforts to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
- Ensure all projects comply with NYC Department of Buildings regulations and applicable building codes.
- Utilize Revit and AutoCAD to develop design concepts, detailed drawings, and construction documentation.
- Collaborate closely with internal team members and oversee junior staff, providing guidance and direction throughout all phases.
- Communicate directly with clients and external stakeholders, presenting design ideas and managing expectations.
- Work on mid-rise and high-rise residential buildings ranging from approximately 70,000 to over 200,000 square feet.
- Participate in all project phases, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
- Support space planning and layout development for multifamily residential projects.
- Act as a project lead or project manager, coordinating schedules, deliverables, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Contribute to a collaborative, “family-style” office culture by sharing knowledge, offering feedback, and supporting team success.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering NYC multifamily residential projects, including mid-rise and high-rise buildings.
- Demonstrated project management and project lead experience across full project lifecycle.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for design and construction documentation.
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in Revit, with experience using Revit across full project lifecycle.
- Strong client-facing communication skills, including presenting design concepts and managing client relationships.
- Team leadership experience, including overseeing and mentoring junior staff members.
- Hands-on experience in schematic design, design development, and construction documents for architectural projects.
- Experience with construction administration for multifamily residential projects.
- Able to perform effective space planning for multi-family residential buildings.
- Design-oriented with a strong eye for detail and quality.
Qualifications
- Experience serving as Architect of Record (AOR) on projects.
- Exposure to high-rise projects greater than 70,000 to 200,000+ square feet.
- Experience with projects in New Jersey and familiarity with regional requirements.
- Architectural licensure is valued and considered a strong plus, though not required.
- Experience working on a diverse project pipeline across multiple regions such as New York, New Jersey, and Florida.
- Interest in long-term career growth within a firm and taking on increasing responsibility over time.
Skills

Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85,000.00 - $105,000.00/yr. Benefits include Medical (75% covered), Dental & Vision, Disability insurance, and PTO: 10 vacation days + 5 personal days.
Work Environment
This position is based in an office environment in New York City and requires working on-site five days a week. The studio operates as a tight-knit, collaborative, “family-style” office where team members work closely together, share ideas, and support one another on complex multifamily residential projects. The environment is fast-paced and design-focused, with frequent use of Revit and AutoCAD as core production tools. The office includes pets, specifically cats, which may require consideration for individuals with allergies. Team members benefit from direct client exposure, leadership responsibility, and the opportunity to run full-cycle projects independently while contributing to a positive, supportive workplace culture.
