About the role
As a Principal Compliance Representative – Project and Technical Lead, you will serve as one of the Statewide Collection Bureau’s most trusted experts. Your leadership and technical mastery will directly support FTB’s mission to provide fair, effective tax administration and deliver excellent service to the people of California.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical program expert over the Tax Account Resolution Section.
- Serve as the technical expert for the Tax Account Resolution Section.
- Guide staff on the most complex, sensitive PIT and BE collection cases.
- Review and resolve high-dollar, high-risk, or legally sensitive accounts.
- Develop and recommend policies, procedures, and compliance strategies.
- Provide training, mentoring, and technical support to staff.
- Lead bureau and division wide projects that improve operations and taxpayer service.
- Contribute to program evaluation and quality assurance efforts.
- Collaborate with leadership and partners across FTB on program improvements.
- Represent the bureau in discussions requiring advanced compliance expertise.
Requirements
Individuals with strong knowledge of PIT/BE laws and advanced compliance or collection experience. Professionals skilled in resolving complex or sensitive cases and providing technical guidance. Candidates with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Collaborative leaders who support change management and cross-division partnership.
