Project and Equipment Engineer (Manufacturing)
Position Summary
The Project and Equipment Engineer is responsible for the performance, reliability, and technical oversight of production equipment. This role serves as the engineering authority for troubleshooting, modifications, and change approval to ensure equipment consistently supports a safe process and produces high-quality product.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Performance & Reliability
- Ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and meets quality and production requirements
- Monitor performance and drive improvements in uptime, consistency, and output
Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis
- Lead investigation of equipment and process issues
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence
Change Control & Technical Approval
- Review and approve all equipment modifications, repairs, and upgrades
- Evaluate impact to safety, quality, process stability, and reliability
- Ensure changes are validated prior to full implementation
Maintenance & Technical Support
- Support maintenance teams with troubleshooting and technical decisions
- Evaluate and approve alternative parts, repairs, or solutions
Process Support
- Partner with Process Engineers to ensure equipment performs required functions
- Determine if issues are due to process changes or equipment limitations
- Restore or adapt equipment to meet process needs
Equipment Improvement & Design
- Identify and implement modifications to improve performance and capability
- Design and develop in-house solutions or work with OEMs as needed
- Support capital equipment upgrades and new installations
Requirements
Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related)
5+ years’ experience in manufacturing, equipment engineering, or maintenance engineering
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Experience with production equipment, systems, and process integration
Pay Transparency
The current pay for this position is between $90K- $130K/year. Rate of pay will depend on factors such as market conditions and location, job-related knowledge and skills, education, training and experience. If hired, employment will be at will.
