About the role

The Project Analyst provides day-to-day support to project managers and supervisors to ensure assigned projects are properly set up, assigned, and tracked throughout their lifecycle. This role requires a strong working knowledge of both client and Pike Engineering work management and accounting processes/systems. The Project Analyst will interact daily with field and engineering groups as well as client representatives.

Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in project analysis, workflow, and preparation of deliverables to meet defined objectives.
  • Utilize data gathering tools and methods to analyze and collect data for project requirements.
  • Support the project team in project administration and process improvements.
  • Review and document project requirements throughout its lifecycle.
  • Provide lead support on local employee relations activities, office functions, and client functions.
  • Ensure projects are completed within planned scope and schedule; proactively identify issues and solutions affecting project results and profitability.
  • Enter project information into the financial accounting system for accurate coding, invoicing, and accounting; review field technician timesheets for accuracy.
  • Facilitate effective project meetings (kickoff, client alignment, status, progress review, etc.).
  • Promote meaningful performance feedback to management and project team members.
  • Maintain quality control and document control for all projects, including paper and electronic filing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED (required). Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field (preferred).
  • 5–7 years of experience in distribution/utility or related field.
  • Working knowledge of line construction, maintenance, and the National Electric Safety Code.
  • Ability to recognize distribution equipment and associated hazards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting procedure manuals, operational procedures, and business correspondence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports, presentations, and small-group interactions.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts (fractions, percentages, ratios, algebra, geometry) to practical situations.
  • Strong reasoning ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and solve practical problems.
  • Accountability for maintaining confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship, on-time delivery, and organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, motivation, negotiation, decision-making, and business management.
  • High energy, ability to work independently, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent sitting (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) and occasional standing/walking (up to 1/3 of the time).
  • Frequent use of hands to handle tools or controls (1/3 to 2/3 of the time).
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling (up to 1/3 of the time).
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds (up to 1/3 of the time).
  • Vision requirements: close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment (e.g., business office with computers/printers, light traffic).
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and wet/humid conditions (up to 1/3 of the time).
