About the role

The Project Accounting Manager will support active projects across the organization, process monthly billings, assist with accrual entries and general ledger postings, review forecasts, and prepare WIP reporting. They will also act as a resource for project teams on the company's project accounting/ERP software.

Responsibilities

  • Support active projects across the organization
  • Process monthly billings and assist with accrual entries and general ledger postings
  • Review forecasts submitted by project teams, identify variances or errors, and follow up to resolve them
  • Help prepare monthly work-in-progress (WIP) reporting
  • Apply working knowledge of percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
  • Act as a go-to resource for project teams on the company's project accounting/ERP software — troubleshooting issues and supporting occasional training

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Several years of progressive accounting experience, with meaningful exposure to cost or project accounting
  • Solid understanding of job costing and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
  • Experience with construction or project-based accounting software (specific platform experience is a plus, not required)
  • Construction, engineering, or similar project-based industry background preferred

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of construction or project-based accounting software
  • Experience with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
