Project Accountant – Commercial Construction

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process owner and subcontractor billings in compliance with contract terms.
• Maintain accurate project cost records and job cost reports.
• Affiliate with Project Managers with budget updates, forecasting, and cost analysis.
• Process subcontractor invoices and verify lien waivers and compliance documentation.
• Monitor and manage project cash flow, including tracking receivables and payables.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and variance analyses for assigned projects.
• Support project closeout processes to ensure all financial records are complete and accurate.
• Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve billing or financial issues.
• Affiliate with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.
• Track project costs and assist in WIP (Work-In-Progress) reporting.
• Help improve accounting processes and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience with Sage 300 CRE (Timberline).
• Experience with Procore (or other construction management software).
• Understanding of construction accounting and job costing.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
