About the role
The Project Accountant will support Jones Payne’s firm by handling all project accounting, contracts, and reporting requirements for large-scale architecture projects. This role is based in our Boston, Massachusetts headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Develop fee proposals, task orders, and contracts based on guidance from project managers
- Prepare monthly client invoicing and project financial reporting
- Develop revenue projections based on guidance from project managers
- Aid in the development and maintenance of staff resource forecasting
- Prepare monthly project accruals and assist with month-end financial activities
- Perform monthly online project reporting
- Maintain oversight of project budgets and financial performance
- Collaborate with project managers to support project planning and financial decision-making
- Aid in the setup and maintenance of projects in Unanet
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Three or more years of project accounting or related accounting experience, preferably within a professional services environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/project accounting systems such as Unanet, Deltek, or similar software
- Keen attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Eagerness to learn and capability to work quickly and efficiently to meet deadlines
