Job Overview
- Prepare and post journal entries into the general ledger.
- Aid in the intercompany accounting process, ensuring efficiency and accuracy of transactions.
- Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure financial statement accuracy.
- Review and analyze production overhead and general administration accounts for coding accuracy, comparing to forecasts and budgets.
Project Accounting Duties
- Review project cost budgets for Schuff Steel offices, collaborating with project managers as necessary.
- Conduct ASC-606 revenue recognition analysis for new contracts.
- Assess and report on project profitability and variances on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Participate in weekly financial meetings with project managers and operations management.
- Prepare, file, and pay sales and use taxes for multiple jurisdictions.
Education/Training
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
Work Experience
- 1-3+ years of experience in accounting.
- Experience with project accounting in a construction environment, a plus.
- Experience in a SOX environment, a plus.
Software & Technology
- Frequent use and knowledge of MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Oracle Cloud, Concur, FloQast (or similar), and Planful.
