Project Accountant

About the role

A rapidly growing General Contractor is looking to add 2 Project Accountants to its dynamic Project Accounting team — with the potential for one position to be at the Senior level depending on experience. If you're a Project Accountant coming from a General Contractor, have experience managing high‑volume WIP/project accounting, and thrive in a fast‑moving environment, this could be a great opportunity. This is a permanent, full‑time, fully benefited salaried position (not a temp or temp‑to‑perm role). The company is located in midtown.

Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting for roughly $25M in projects per PA
• Handle high‑volume vendor activity — sometimes 20+ vendors per project
• Own WIP and project accounting responsibilities
• Partner closely with project teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
• Prioritize competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy
• Work independently while communicating effectively across the organization

Requirements

• Must already have Project Accounting experience
• High‑volume project accounting experience is essential
• GC experience strongly preferred
• Construction Management backgrounds considered for candidates coming from the subcontractor side
• Residential construction experience highly preferred, particularly high‑end residential

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Self‑sufficient, proactive, and an excellent communicator
• Great attitude and ability to work well within a highly collaborative, dynamic team

Skills

• Sage Intacct experience is highly preferred — they recently transitioned to the platform

Fully benefited salaried position.

Pay

Base: $90‑$130k base + discretionary bonus (based on experience).

Schedule

Office 4 days per week, remote 1 day per week (midtown location).
