About the role
We are looking for a skilled Project Accountant to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland, on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the review, analysis, and verification of documentation submitted by contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify documents submitted by contractors and vendors for accuracy and compliance with established plans, specifications, and regulations.
- Analyze estimates and justifications for reimbursement submitted by contractors and vendors.
- Conduct audits on active contracts to verify monthly progress payments and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Compile necessary documentation and reports for the finalization of services, commodities, or construction contracts.
- Track and interpret project status information using both proprietary and common business software, documenting changes and generating progress reports.
- Prepare graphs, charts, and other visual aids to reflect project trends, timelines, and revisions.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with contractors, vendors, project managers, and other stakeholders.
- Produce accurate reports and maintain comprehensive records of contract activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of two years of experience in contract administration, project management, project accounting, or project coordination.
- Strong ability to analyze and verify invoices, reimbursement requests, and contractor submissions.
- Proficiency in using business software for documentation, reporting, and project tracking.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated ability to create graphs, charts, and reports using standard business tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and produce detailed reports.
- Ability to build effective relationships with contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
